The final report said: Findings suggestive of acute sigmoid diverticulitis include the presence of localized bowel wall thickening (>4 mm), an increase in soft tissue density within the pericoloIonic fat secondary to inflammation or fat stranding, and the presence of diverticula in the sigmoid colon.
