History of Present Illness (HPI)

A 25 year old woman with a past medical history of depression with prior suicide attempts presents to the emergency department with severe nausea and vomiting. She states that she experienced a traumatic break up with her significant other the night prior and “tried to hurt herself” though is guarded about elaborating further. No recent fevers, chills, diarrhea, abdominal pain, sick contacts, or headaches. Her only other medication is citalopram. She has a history of injection drug use, and she last used heroin 3 weeks ago. She drinks alcohol socially on weekends and does not use any herbal/dietary supplements.
